Prof. Dr. Hafız hat 38 Artikel in internationalen und mehr als 30 in nationalen Fachzeitschriften veröffentlicht, sechs Kapitel zu türkischen HNO-Lehrbüchern beigetragen und im Lauf seiner Karriere mehr als 150 Kongress- und Panelvorträge gehalten.

Seit 2000 wirkt er als Herausgeber der türkischen Fachzeitschrift für Hals-Nasen-Ohren-Heilkunde (Kulak Burun Boğaz İhtisas Dergisi) und begutachtet und prägt so die Forschung seines Fachs.

Seine akademische Arbeit folgt denselben Gebieten wie seine Chirurgie: Kopf-Hals-Tumoren, Kehlkopfchirurgie, Erkrankungen von Schilddrüse und Nebenschilddrüsen, transorale Laserchirurgie, Atemwegschirurgie, mikrovaskuläre Rekonstruktion und das Monitoring des Stimmbandnervs.
